Fairy Tale Activities and Ideas for Kids

Did you know that February 26 is National Tell a Fairy Tale Day? It is! We hope the fairy tale activities and ideas we’re sharing here will help you enjoy the day and add some creativity and fun to your homeschool!

Many years ago when I taught middle school, I had my students take a fairy tale and re-tell it in a modern day setting. They had to change the names and the events, and they weren’t allowed to tell which fairy tale they were basing their modern fairy tales off of. After the fairy tales were written, they read them aloud, and the other class members tried to guess which fairy tale each one was based on. It was one of the favorite activities we did that year! Feel free to borrow my idea and to use some of these great ideas and activities too.
