Escape Into the Night
This is an opportunity for the young readers in your life to travel back in time to the year 1857, where they will meet Libby, Caleb and Jordan. They will journey with these three young seekers as they try to answer the question, “What does freedom really mean?” These characters will have to make life-changing choices along the way, offering true-to-life stories of courage, integrity and suspense from the golden age of steamboats, the rush of immigrants to the new land, and the dangers of the Underground Railroad. The first book in the Freedom Seekers series, Escape into the Night, releases this month. Your children will journey with Libby as her life changes drastically when she comes to live on the steamboat Christina. Though she is rich in material things, she recognizes her emotional poverty when she discovers the secret and dangerous work of 14-year-old Caleb, a conductor for the Underground Railroad. The release of this book launches the release of the rest of the series, which will be published April through August 2013.
