Is Online Curriculum Right for Your Child?

Are you considering using online curriculum with your child? More and more families are using online curriculum now for a variety of reasons.  I’ll share with you some things to consider as you decide whether your child might do well with online curriculum.

4 Ways Online Curriculum Helps Homeschoolers Succeed

Many parents are comfortable using textbooks and workbooks to homeschool. It’s what most of us consider to be the “traditional” way to homeschool, and it works very well for many families! However, there are situations in which textbooks and workbooks aren’t a good fit for a particular family or a particular child. When my son (who is now 21 years old) was homeschooling high school, he wanted to work independently. He didn’t enjoy having me give him assignments, grade his tests, and oversee his progress. He loved anything electronic, and he also loved being independent. For him, online curriculum was a perfect fit!

There are other situations in which online curriculum is a good fit too. Some families have older children who need to work more independently for a variety of reasons. Other families may have working parents who find it more beneficial for all of them if their children use online curriculum. Others may simply feel more comfortable with the added help and support that an online curriculum provides.

If you’re considering making the switch to online curriculum, there’s no need to feel intimidated or to be worried. Many families have successfully made the switch! Below are 4 ways online curriculum helps homeschoolers succeed. I think you’ll find that online curriculum is a great option for some families. Take a look at the list below to help decide if online curriculum is right for you!
