Sure-Fire-Ways-to-Sabotage-Your-Homeschool

One post we loved from last week is Sure-Fire Ways to Sabotage Your Homeschool. At this time of year, it’s great to read a few reminders as many of us get started on our new homeschool years!

Guidelines for the hop:

  1. You can link up to 3 posts from your blog. Make sure you use the exact URL to the post.
  2. You can link up kid activities, homeschool related, or homemaking/recipe posts. Posts unrelated to these topics will be removed. (Please no product reviews or “marketing” posts unless they are homeschool related.)
  3. Please either include the Hip Homeschool Hop button (found at the bottom of the site) or a link back to Hip Homeschool Moms.
  4. The linky will go live each week at 6am EST, and will be live until Saturday at midnight.

  2. Homeschooling our daughter for the first time. I keep being told not to use common core math etc.I’m what to do. I need some free printable. She is going into tenth grade but I think I need to back her up a little bit. I don’t want to get so overwhelmed that I start to think public school is looking like a better alternative . please help? It seems like this unschooling transition is harder for me. Our daughter is ready to go with the flow.

    One overwhelmed mom

    1. I’m so sorry you’re overwhelmed! That’s common for new homeschooling parents, so try not to worry too much. There are lots of great math curriculums available, so you may just need to look at a few and then decide which one you think would work best for your daughter. My children have used Math U See, Teaching Textbooks, and Right Start Math. I also know many homeschooling families who use Saxon and really like it. You may be able to find some helpful information on Khan academy too.
