Weekly Photo Journal
Looking back on some things I wish I had done better on this homeschool journey, documenting it would be pretty high on the list. We have been homeschooling for eight years and have had so many fun and crazy adventures over those years. I cannot tell you how many times we would be somewhere and want to get a picture and realize we didn’t bring the camera. Now that the camera is part of our smartphones, I don’t really need to have a camera anymore… just my iphone, but I still forget to get pictures on a regular basis. And I regret that lack of commitment and consistency. We don’t want you to have these same regrets… so we are starting a weekly photo journal inspiration on Instagram to document our homeschool efforts.
How to Participate in the Weekly Photo Journal.
First, follow us on Instagram and we will follow you back. Next, be watching at the beginning of each week, for the theme to be announced on Instagram and on Facebook. It will look similar to the image above. Finally, during the course of your homeschool week, snap one or several images that relate to the theme and share them on Instagram. Be sure to use the hashtag #HSMoms so we can find your pictures.
Think of this project as your virtual scrapbook. Even if you keep your profile private, you can still participate! We just won’t get the luxury of seeing your great pictures! But that is okay, the entire point of this project is to help you develop the habit of photographing your homeschool journey!
Don’t have an Instagram Account?
If you don’t have an Instagram account, it is super easy to setup and use. But you must have a smartphone. Instagram has a very straightforward tutorial that you can follow. However, if you are like me and need to see somebody actually instructing you on how to use it, here is a video to watch!
The themes each week will be fun and homeschool related. How you choose to frame the picture and what you choose to share related to the topic is up to you! There are no “right ways” to do this project.
This is YOUR photo journal. We are just tagging along and doing our own along side of you.
