I've used it for 8-9 years. The customer service is tremendous. Now that I'm repeating grades, all I do is unarchive older lesson plans, tweak them a bit, and I'm done with planning for the summer. Kids love that they can easily pull up their lesson plans each week. I always recommend this to my homeschooling friends.

Pros
Easy to plan lessons during the summer and have them ready to go all year long. Easy to reschedule when "life" happens. Wonderful to have the lesson plans made when the next child comes along in that same grade. Makes a good list of what books we own. Tre
Cons
Learning curve is a steep....worth is 100's of times over, but steep

I am so happy I found homeschool tracker. I started my homeschool journey with paper planner - and was always erasing and moving things around when kids were sick or something popped up like it always does. With homeschool tracker its a click of a button!! YAY!!! I love that I am putting all my lesson plans in now and it is going to be AWESOME for my younger kids to just have it all there for me!! LOVE this program!

I can adjust when kids are sick without erasing my entire lesson planner - I can access it from anywhere - keeps me organized and "OWNING" my lesson planning!!
Cons
Takes some time in the beginning, but the new online tutorials are awesome and the customer service people are so friendly.

I tried their HST basic to see if it was something that we would use. By the time we went to purchase the program they discontinued selling HST+ to new users and switched to everything online only. I was very disappointed. We don't have the best of internet connections and I like to be able to access things offline. If their online edition is similar to their computer edition then I would recommend it for those who have a good internet connection.

I have been using Homeschool Tracker Online for two years. I love the flexiblity of our schedule while using it. I appreciate the ability to save lesson plans and even use shared plans. The major drawbacks are the learning curve that is required to learn the program and the time consuming input up front. However, once you learn to use the program and put in your lesson plans, your year becomes super easy!

We started off with HST plus and I was hesitant to convert to the online version. We have been using HST Online for a year now, and I really like it!

I used different paper and printable planners til I found Homeschool Tracker. It is great and no more lost sheets. It keeps track of everything I feel is important to run our homeschool smoothly. My only issue was trying to figure out how to input data (can be time consuming). I highly recommend!

Overall, I am very happy. I have used this program for several years, including both the online version (which has been many years now) and the version that was installed on the computer, before it was available as an online option.

Pros
Makes keeping track of attendance and grades a breeze and printing reports at the end of the year is soooooo easy!!
Cons
Sometimes it takes me longer than I would like to figure out to do what I want it to do for me. Also there was a bug in the printing of my daughters highschool transcript last year which was a bit of an annoyance.

Pros
Great way to organize the school year
Cons
Takes time to figure the system out. I liked the idea of creating lesson plans, that I could keep for other students coming up, but there is a learning curve. It was a bit expensive for my family.
Do you recommend?
I would recommend it, especially for higher grade levels.

I have used several online and software planners as well as paper planners in our 12 years of homeschooling. Homeschool Tracker online allowed me to schedule my kids' entire school year in every subject in just a few hours. I know my data is safe in the cloud (have had way too many laptop crashes to take that for granted!) Living in hurricane country, it is also important that my kids' schedule can be accessed from anywhere. Paying a small fee every month insures a supple and secure program that allows me to input as much or as little as I would like, and to reschedule as needed. There is a bit of learning curve, yes, but that is going to happen with any scheduling program highly adaptable and customizable. For the price, ease of use, and peace of mind (cloud storage), Homeschool Tracker is the best of the bunch.

We've homeschooled for 14 years with 7 children. After failing miserably with paper planners the first few years, I finally switched to the original Homeschool Tracker software and then HST+. This year I made the transition to the online version and I am so pleased! My data was quickly transferred after a brief email.

What I'm looking forward to most is having my kids access their assignments online. No longer will we waste paper printing out assignments. With this feature, you can link to websites within the assignment directions and the student can click on the link to go directly to the desired website.

There are hardly any cons to this, except for the time it takes to learn the ins and outs of the website. It is slightly different from the software. I personally don't like the transcript format and setup either, so I just transfer the info into a document on my computer to make a more appealing transcript.

I tried using a paper planner for the first year of high school with my oldest and it was a disaster. I tried most of the online planners out there, but they don't have all of the features of Homeschool Tracker. I don't need my planner to keep my grocery list, just my children's school information. Homeschool Tracker does a great job at this as long as you set it up well. The customer support is fantastic and they helped me get going. Now that my son is starting High School, I can use the same lesson plans I used with my daughter and it is saving me tons of time. highly recommend.

I've been using Homeschool Tracker for a few years and absolutely love it! I've entered or imported all of my lesson plans and now scheduling assignments is a breeze. I enter in grades at the end of the week and can instantly see our progress. My oldest daughter just finished High School and creating a transcript was a simple process since I had all of her records in the system. The Universities loved the transcript! I can't imagine running my homeschool without Homeschool Tracker.
