Created for the independent, homeschooling student, Teaching Textbooks has helped thousands of high schoolers gain a firm foundation in upper-level math without constant parental or teacher involvement.

Extraordinarily clear illustrations, examples, and graphs have a non-threatening, hand-drawn look, and engaging real life questions make learning algebra practical and applicable. Textbook examples are clear while the audiovisual support includes lecture, practice and solution CDs for every chapter, homework, and test problem. The review-method structure helps students build problem solving skills as they practice core concepts and rote techniques.

Teaching Textbooks' new Algebra 1 Version 2.0 edition now includes automated grading! Students watch the lesson on the computer, work a problem in the consumable workbook, and type their answer into the computer; the computer will then grade the problem. If students choose to view the solution, they can see a step-by-step audiovisual solution.

My daughter likes the format of Teaching Textbooks. She likes having the instructor explain the concepts visually. The solution cd helps the student understand where he made his error. The only negative that I have found is that there are no additional practice problems. A cd of additional problems for the more difficult concepts would have been so helpful.

We have used Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Pre-Calculus. With four children and twelve years between youngest and oldest, this curriculum was perfect. I could not have been happier with the product. My older children were able to learn independently and understand. I am planning to use it with the two younger children also. I recommend this math to everyone I talk to.

So glad this series was recommended to us, especially moving from public school to home school in middle school. My daughter is able to do her math independently, which is essential for homeschooling for us.

Love this math for my non-mathy student. She gets the explanations and can see hints or view solutions when needed. Grades are automatically kept, making report cards easy. I can review a lesson and have her redo if necessary. Very user friendly for student and parent!

Two of my sons use Teaching Textbooks for Algebra and both love this curriculum. One had been using VideoText Algebra and he was struggling so much to get through the material. When we switched to TT, we started back at the beginning. The other day he dropped the CD and I asked him to be careful because I would have to purchase a new one. He asked if it was expensive because it is such a great curriculum he would expect to pay a lot for it. I think that is probably the best review I can give you. My boys are loving their Algebra work, no arguments to get it done and they are mastering the concepts. A win/win!
