Hip Homeschool Moms team member review…

Have you ever just sat in front of an infomercial, with your mouth wide open in sheer amazement at what that “thing” can do? It not only slices and dices, but it bags and freezes it for you too? Yeah, that is how I felt about The Old Schoolhouse Homeschool Planner when I sat down to give it a try. It doesn’t slice and dice or even freeze (thank goodness), but it DOES manage your entire life from start to finish. This is not just a homeschool planner, this is a life planner. It goes way beyond the classroom.

Since I have not previously had the pleasure of experiencing The Old School House Planner before, I sat in amazement, literally with my jaw open,  as I scrolled through 24 pages of the table of contents. It is jam packed with every form, list, and resource you can imagine. If you need to know it or remember it, there is a form for it. Do you have a preschooler and want a supply list? It’s there. Do you have a high schooled student and need to make an official transcript? Yep, that is there too along with everything in between. I can’t possibly begin to list it all for you, but trust me on this…it’s good, really, really good.

The best part about it is that it is interactive. You can type in it from the calendars to the report cards. You can make journal pages from the various templates and you can organize your blog post ideas. There is even a bucket list. Nothing will get past you with this planner.

You have two options. It is available for download for only $39.00, or if you prefer having a CD on hand, you can order that for just $5.00 more and shipping is always free at the Schoolhouse Store. Only $39.00 for 819 pages of easily navigated “gold”. This is SUCH a good deal. Did I mention there is an address book in it as well along with forms to fit every kind of homeschooler? Are you an Unschooler? You’re covered! Are you a Unit Study kind of family? You have what you need! Do you prefer Co-ops? Well, there is plenty to help you make it happen. From lap-book forms and supply lists (with linkable websites) to planning your next outing to a homeschool convention, you are covered! School schedule forms are broken up for 9 weeks, 6 weeks, daily, or even hourly. You choose what works best for your family.

Oh, and I mustn’t forget to tell you about the homeschool articles from multiple homeschool veterans who shared their tips and great advice. It was like having the Top 25 Homeschooling Blogs all in one place!

The Old Schoolhouse Planner 2011-12 blew me away. I love it. I will use it to my hearts content and I hope you all will give it a whirl!  Be sure to follow The Old School House Magazine on Facebook and Twitter.

Being a fairly new homeschool family of two years and counting and teaching four children (15, 13, 11, 8) with different learning styles and personalities I believe this would benefit our family a great deal to be able to stay on task, and schedule our activities as well and not become over whelmed life all homeschoolers do regardless if they are veterans or new ones.

  59. I need all the help I can get in the organization department. I love that you can type in the forms and print just what you need.

  61. I would love to win this planner as I am having to go back to work full time and know that in order to make homeschooling work I have to be organized. I have been looking for an online planner or something that could be easily updated without having to rewrite so many of the same things. Thanks to Tammy’s review, I feel that this would be an incredible resource to help me continue homeschooling my 12 year old son.

The amount of money coming out of our bank account is adding up as well, which is quite a shock since my kids have been in public schools the past couple of years and our costs for that have been very low. 90. This past year was my first year home schooling and it didn’t go very well. The positive side is that my children are only 4 and 5, I still really want to home school them and I learned a lot from my mistakes. One of the main problems I had was that the year wasn’t organized well enough and I am not naturally organized. I realized that I couldn’t survive without a planner! I have been searching around and I’ve read wonderful things about this planner and would be thrilled to use it this year. We have had two tough years in a row and our budget is very small so it would also be a huge blessing. Thanks for the opportunity!

I would LOVE to win the planner for the coming year! It would be such a blessing and help in organizing our homeschool. Thanks for the opportunity!

  114. For us, this upcoming school year will be unlike any of the other 9. This year we will have our first high schooler. That will give us a range of 5 students from 1st grade through 9th grade. Anything that will help us be more organized and prepared is a wonderful thing!

  115. I would absolutely LOVE to win this planner! I am just starting into my first year of homeschooling with a 6-year-old and 5-year-old, and have to keep up with my 2-year-old and 1-year-old while schooling the older ones. Our schedule has been absolute chaos, and no matter how hard I try, I just can’t seem to get things organized and in working order. This planner would save my sanity and amp up my kids’ education. I’d buy it but, like many others, finances just won’t allow for it.

  116. This looks like a wonderful planner! This will be my first year homeschooling my twin daughters, ages 9. We are all so excited about our new adventure. I am trying so hard to get organized. 130. I WANT TO WIN BECAUSE I WANT A PLANNER THAT WORKS FOR ME AND NOT ONE THAT I WORK FOR AND THE OLD SCHOOLHOUSE PLANNER SOUNDS LIKE IT IS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED!!!

  131. I love this planner! Why do I want/need it? I am a blogging, homeschooling mom of 4 and I need all the help I can get!!!

  132. I could use an organizer to help plan my days and lessons. I have 4 children that keep me busy; one 5th grade, one 8th, and 2 10th graders which can be tough to keep up with who is doing what.

  133. I would LOVE this planner because I am just starting out with homeschooling, and I feel that it would be better to have tips at my fingertips rather than spending valuable time trying to search for every bit of everything that I would need. Thank you for offering this giveaway!

  134. We’re just starting homeschooling and I don’t know where to begin organizationally. This would be really useful this fall and I would love to win!

  138. As of homeschool mom of three boys I could use all the help I can get to keep us all organized. Our boys range in age from 2.5-15 and we with everyone is different grades and activties that book looks great to this mother in need

  139. This is my first year of home schooling and i’m stuck on an organizational tool to use to help me plan.

  140. I would love to win because I need all the help I can get to stay on top of everything. 🙂

  141. The area I struggle with most is time management. I feel like I waste a ton of time walking in circles and not being productive. This sounds like just the thing to help me get on track.

  142. I’d love to win! Organization is something that I long for, but don’t always follow through with. This would be a great tool to help in this area.

  143. I would love this now that I have two to homeschool and a toddler in the mix as well. Trying to keep everyone/everything organized has me a little stressed out!
